Correction The following scholarships were not included in the June 13, 2008 Leakey I.S.D. graduation report. Joe Waligura presented Masonic scholarships ($500 for four semesters) to Elizabeth Davis & Alex Farley. He also presented the “Lamar Award of Excellence for Personal Achievement” to Michelle Bingham and to teacher Elaine Spence, who is always urging her students on to bigger and better accomplishments. Correction submitted by Leakey I.S.D
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America’, for an amount of ‘up to and including my life.’ That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer can conceptualize it. -Author unknown.
Thank You All How blessed we are to live in such a wonderful community like ours, where both young and old can come together to have fun with small children chasing balloons and soap bubbles, dancing for joy with all our friends and eating to our hearts delight. (I believe the older ones even had fun too!) I want to thank every one who helped make “Bryan’s Going Away Party” a huge success. Our whole family appreciates the thoughtfulness and generosity shown by everyone. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! Mary Lou Hill a/k/a MeeMaw PLEASE KEEP BRYAN IN YOUR PRAYERS
