Betty Sprouse and Russell Glass hosted a Wine Tasting event this week at Real Rentals in Leakey. Attendees were offered up to 15% discounts on wine purchases. The event allowed the Leakey Beverage Barn to survey their customer’s favorite selections. The Leakey Beverage Barn offers a 10% savings on purchases of six or more bottles.

Garry Merritt, Unopposed County Judge Candidate Real County Republican Judge Candidate, Garry Merritt, unopposed in the Republican Primary, received 773 votes. He will be unopposed on the November ballot and is expected to take office January 1, 2011. A total of 1036 voters turned out for Tuesdays election, less than 50% of the registered voters. Merritt, currently serves as the County Attorney. County Judge W.B. Sansom, Jr. will be retiring at the end of the year.

Lisa West with husband Steve, await returns Tuesday night. After failing to secure a place in the run-off, Lisa has offi cially announced her support for Mairi Gray, County Treas.

Real County Rancher, Luther Bushong, says he loves politics. He arrived early at the courthouse Tuesday night to watch the returns. Bushong, a long time Democrat, said elections are exciting and enjoys strong candidate participation.
