Armed Forces and Emergency Responder Photos needed for Book Fair

Nueces Canyon Elementary Book Fair!

By: NC Elementary Librarian, Jana Valenzuela

I hope this announcement has found that everyone is rested up and ready for another school year! I know that I am ready for a new and exciting year!

Coming with the new school year is our fall Scholastic Book Fair, which is being called "Here's To Our Heroes! Reading Saves the Day!"

I will be decorating my library according to this theme, and I am in need of some assistance. What I would like to use to decorate with are photos of our men and women currently serving in our Armed Forces or who have in the past. If you are a new recruit and do not have a formal picture yet, please send one of you in your PT shirt. I would also like to use photos of our men and women who volunteer with our local Fire Department, EMS, and local law enforcement. If possible, I would like for the picture to be of someone in full uniform. Please include name, date of service, and a personal note of their interest. (i.e. recreational activity, movie, music, etc.) Your photos may be brought to the Nueces Canyon Elementary Library or Office. For more information, please contact me at 597-8153.
